Commission a Custom Piece
Working on a commission is a collaborative journey. My goal is to translate your favorite memory or unique vision into a beautiful piece of fine art while maintaining the high level of traditional realism my collectors expect.
A Simple 3-Step Process
1. Initial Conversation
Everything begins with your idea. I invite you to share reference photos, personal stories, and details about the specific landscape or animal you want captured. Together, we will discuss the composition, canvas size, and overall mood to ensure the artwork perfectly aligns with your vision.
2. The Creation
Once the direction is agreed upon, a 50% deposit secures your place on my calendar and covers the initial materials. I'll begin your piece by crafting a detailed burnt sienna underpainting. I'll send you a photo of this foundational layer for your approval before I start mixing and applying the final oil colors. Because each piece requires careful attention, please allow one to three months for the painting process depending on the complexity of the subject.
3. The Reveal and Delivery
When the painting is complete, I'll send you a photograph for your final approval. Once you love the result and the final balance is settled, your piece receives a protective varnish. From there, it's carefully packaged and ready to be sent to its new home.
Commission Pricing
Creating a custom painting requires specialized care and dedicated studio time. Pricing is based per square inch. This comprehensive rate includes the conceptual design, premium materials, and bringing your specific vision to life.
Custom canvas dimensions are always available to perfectly fit your space. The prices listed below are for single subject compositions. If your vision includes multiple subjects, we'll discuss a custom quote during our initial chat.
